Female-led restaurants Connaught by Hélène Darroze and Core by Clare Smyth were just awarded three Michelin stars during Michelin’s UK and Ireland ceremony. These achievements bring hope to restaurants, to women, and to female chefs who have longed for recognition in a male-dominated industry.
“I’m thinking of all the women working in kitchens, and I want to tell them what is possible,” Darroze said on receiving the award in an online event. “Just believe in yourself, and anything can happen.” These female chefs have proven that there’s room for more women at the table.
