Back in early August, we shared about a few Bon Appétit contributing writers and food editors who were not being paid fairly for their contributions to the popular series that many turned to for comfort during the quarantine. One of those stars being Chef Sohla El-Waylly. We were happy to hear that after leaving Bon Appétit, she now has her own show where she is paid fairly for her creations as shared by Vulture.
She has been saying yes to everything. From writing a cookbook, to having a column with Food 52, guest-judging on cooking shows, and filming for a web series she now stars in, Sohla is pushing on after a summer of challenges surrounded by racism and unequal pay at Bon Appétit.
